The controlled atmosphere cold storage, also known as air-conditioned warehouse, is the most advanced preservation
method for fruits and vegetables. Based on refrigeration, this cold storage is configured with function of gas
composition regulation. By controlling the temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, oxygen concentration and ethylene
concentration in the storage environment, it reduces the respiration of fruits and vegetables, delays its metabolism,
and keeps freshness of fruits and vegetables, thus significantly prolonging the storage period and shelf life of fruits
and vegetables. In general, controlled atmosphere cold storage can extend storage period by 0.5-1 times in comparison
with common refrigerated warehouse. After leaving the cold storage, the storage period of fruits and vegetables can be
extended by 21-28 days compared to common warehouse, that is, 3-4 times that of common one.
