Our client in Ecuador is one of the world’s top exporters of white shrimp, thanks to its favorable natural environment and advanced aquaculture industry. However, traditional air-freezing methods have a slower freezing speed, higher energy consumption, and greater product dehydration. They are unable to meet the stringent requirements of high-end markets in Europe and Asia for “fresh, high-quality, and convenient” frozen shrimp. To address this challenge, they chose CBFI’s brine quick freezer with 2 tons/h production capacity to upgrade their white shrimp quality, which improves international competitiveness.

Client Situations

The client is a large Ecuadorian shrimp processing plant that specializes in catching, processing, and exporting South American white shrimp, with a daily volume of over 10 tons.

Solutions

To meet the client’s production requirements and the product (shrimp) types, CBFI custom-designed a brine quick freezing system with a 2-ton/hour production capacity. Our system is composed of six key sections, with the core being the brine tunnel freezer and blast freezing tunnel, as follows:

  • Brine Shower Tunnel Freezer: for initial rapid freezing.
  • Blast Freezing Tunnel: further lowering product temperature.
  • Infeed Conveyor: ensures smooth and efficient product loading.
  • Transfer Conveyor: prevents brine carryover into the cold air tunnel.
  • Outfeed Conveyor: facilitates easy unloading of finished products.
  • Brine Pump and Mixer: maintains brine consistency and enables continuous circulation.
