100,000 t high-bay rack-supported cold storage facility for Zhengzhong cold chain

The high-bay rack-supported cold storage facility covers an area of 22,000 m² and is 45 m high, including 9 m below ground level. With 400,000 m³ of temperature-controlled space, the cold storage facility maintains the temperature between -25°C and -18°C, and is equipped with 16 stacker cranes and nearly 700,000 storage locations, enabling storage capacity of 100,000 t.
The storage facility integrates high-bay structure, rack-supported design and ultra-low-temperature storage.

• The refrigeration system is equipped with five RWKII65-CM rotary screw compressor units and an RWKII40-CM high-temperature refrigeration unit.
• The high-bay cold storage facility is equipped with air coolers, which use gravity liquid feed. The air coolers save the need for ammonia pump and lower the operation costs, reducing electricity consumption by 1% in the case of 18 hours of operation per day.
• The refrigeration system uses two-stage throttling for liquid feed, saving energy consumption by 3-5 % compared with conventional system.
• The defrost system uses hot ammonia gas defrost, with the condensate returning to a centralized flash economizer. The defrost design promotes smooth condensate drainage and improves defrost performance.
